Englewood United Methodist Church

If you are interested in volunteering your time towards one of our mission efforts, please contact the church office.

There are many ways to get involved in reaching out to others through the ministries of our church...

Rise Against Hunger

http://www.riseagainsthunger.org

Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief organization that distributes food and life-saving aid to the world's most vulnerable, mobilizing the necessary resources to end hunger by the year 2030. 2017 was our first year of participation with the organization. We raised funds throughout the year and then 100 servants gathered on a Saturday morning to package a total of 20, 172 meals.  We learned that the meals themselves are only the beginning of a process to help educate people and create sustainable communities.

Mug Dump (last Sunday of each month)

Collect your loose change throughout the month and then bring it to worship on the last Sunday of the month so that we can share out of our abundance with others in need. Each month we designate one of our missions as the recipient for the Mug Dump.

Community Table

Community Table is an ecumenical organization working to diminish the effects of poverty in our community by offering direct help to people in need, referral support to other agencies, money management education and asset-based community development. Specific outreach ministries of the Community Table include Front Porch Ministry, School Fair and the Christmas Store.

On-Going Collections

Non-perishable food items, toiletries, soup labels, box tops, eyeglasses, cell phones, pop tabs, clothing and household items are all accepted at any time and distributed to appropriate persons or organizations.

Northmont F.I.S.H. (Friends In Service to Humanity)

We support Northmont F.I.S.H. with collections throughout the year. F.I.S.H. serves the Northmont Community with food distribution and holiday gifts.

St. Paul Saturday Breakfast

We partner with St. Paul UMC on the East side of Dayton to provide free meals to anyone who is hungry. We send teams every other month (odd months) to join this important ministry in the city of Dayton.

UMCOR (United Methodist Committee On Relief)

http://www.umcor.org/

The United Methodist Committee on Relief is a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating human suffering around the globe. UMCOR's work reaches people in more than 80 countries, including the United States. Church apportionments underwrite all administrative costs so that 100% of monies designated for UMCOR go directly to relief efforts. Supplies are collected at different times during the year for hygiene kits, cleaning bucket kits and school bag kits. We also send a mission team to UMCOR's Sager Brown Depot each year to assist in preparing supplies for disaster relief.
